In a Heartbeat Art Gallery logo In a Heartbeat Art Gallery

In a Heartbeat Art Gallery, opened in the winter of 2008, is located in the center of picturesque Eden Mills Ontario, just ten minutes west of Guelph.  Eden Mills is a renowned artist community although few studios are open year-round, and as a life-long collector Michael felt their inspiring works deserved more attention.  And so became the In a Heartbeat gallery, currently drawing attention back to our beautiful village and showcasing not only local artists, but also Ontario-wide artists.

Gallery owner, Michael Coull explains that "it was a dream of mine to have a gallery here".  As an avid life long art collector, he always envisioned this gallery filled with magical and mystical objects bringing people together in this warm and comfortable space.  The gallery assembles the spirit of so many talented artists and brings their work to life.

Come and visit us on a chilly fall afternoon to enjoy the wood heated warmth of the rustic and sophisticated In a Heartbeat Gallery.

The Gallery

The Gallery has three rooms, the first of which is the main gallery where a variety of works by local and regional Artists are exhibited including detailed Charcoals by well-known Bellville Artists Laurie Sponagle, Photographs by local photographer Peter Grimaldi whose works are inspired by his international travels and whose uniqueness is captured by his painters' eye.

Intricate Celtic paintings, hand-drawn and finely painted with metallic and India inks by Diana E Skeates and sculptures by internationally renowned local artists Janus whose drawn paintings, sculptures and installations are widely exhibited nationally and internationally. Janus' smoked horses, puppies and cats along with her spirit animals are becoming ever popular for their simple elegance and uniqueness.  We are also honoured to show some of her larger interpretive sculptures.

In a Heartbeat has also had two private exhibitions for the talented sculptor Jamie Brick from Eastern Ontario who uses body castings to create unique and mythical sculptures with cedar driftwood and antique silver, his most recemt of which is the life-sized 'Dragonfly' chandelier, a stunning centerpiece of fine art.

In our Artisans Gallery we have 9 exhibitors including one of a kind handbags made by Jadin, creative and colourful wooden carvings by local Pat Button, fine sterling silver, pearl and crystal accessories by Ottawa jewellery designer Sarah, many potters including gorgeous pottery by Guelph potter Goldie Sherman, and many more.

We are constantly receieving new works and new Artists as our Gallery grows and diversifies.

Our exhibition space, The Stone Room is a separate room off of the main gallery.  It is approximately 500 square feet with original hardwood floors, a high exposed beam ceiling, and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace with a dramatic 8.5 foot hearth.  We also have a 200 square foot ruin off the back with original stone walls and  a trellis roof.  The room has elegance and rustic appeal.  It shows a variety of art media beautifully and provides a unique and comfortable atmosphere further reflected by the sophistication and calm of the remainder of the gallery.

Every week we are hosting a new exhibitor in the Stone Room.

The exhibition room is also available for private hire for art exhibitions and intimate events, contact us at mailto:inaheartbeat@everus.ca for more details or visit our website.
