Statement about Meditations and Muses:
I am drawn to creating and expressing through the medium of collage for many reasons. Begining with the selection and collection of the source material. The intricate decisions that need to be made for the end result taking form also intrigues me. It is about problem solving, containment and concealment. And predominantly control.
My muses are varied and all encompassing and my meditions on life, love and death are vast and can be found in not only the details but also the space and gaps.
Making something out of something else is very gratifying. Yet I was not satisfied with simply cutting out of magazines. Over time I have felt the desire to paint various pieces and, inspired by William S. Burroughs, cut into my own photographs also.
This is a reflection of how I view the world. And also how I feel inside.
